GreenandRed:Batterytemperaturebetween+40and+50°C.Fastchargedisabled,
normalchargeisused.
Blue:Batterytemperatureisbelow0°C.Nochargingtakesplace.
Red:Batterytemperatureisabove+50°C.Nochargingtakesplace.
Observethesestepsfordailyoperationofthecharger.
1Ensurethatmountingmaterialsonthesensordonotshortcircuitthecharginglugs.
Thismayberopes,wires,chainsorotheritemsthatobstructorshortcircuitthe
electricalconnectionsbetweenthechargerandthesensor.
Note
Thechargingclampsonthebatterychargercablemustbeproperlysecuredontothe
charginglugswithmetalagainstmetal!
2Attachthechargingclampstothesensorasfollows:
aConnecttheRedclamptothepositive(+)fasteninglug
bConnecttheBlackclamptothenegative(–)fasteninglug
Oneverysensorthepolarityofthefasteninglugsareengravedonthesensorbody
using+and–characters.
3Whenthechargerisconnectedtothesensor,checkthechargerlamps.
Onceconnected,thechargerwillidentifywhetherthesensorconnectedcanbefast
chargedornot.Thisisshownbytheyellowlamps.Ifthetoplampashesrapidly,
thesensorisfastcharged.
Ifyoursensorcanbefastcharged,thechargerwillalsochecktheinternal
temperatureofthesensor.Thetemperatureisshownonthe“thermometer”on
thecharger’sfrontpanel.Ifyouchargeasensorthatcannotbefastcharged,this
“thermometer”doesnotwork.
4Observethechargetimesandtemperaturelimitations!
Fastcharge:ThePIChargerwillrstrechargethesensorbatteryforapproximately
onehourtoreach70%batterycapacity,thenapproximatelythreehourstoreach
100%capacity.Oncefullycharged,aconstanttricklechargewillcompensatefor
selfdischarging.
Note
FastchargingonlyappliestoPIsensors!
Normalcharge:ThePIChargerwillrstrechargethesensorbatteryfor16hoursfor
fullbatterycapacity.ThismodeappliesforchargingPIsensorsoutsidespecied
temperaturerange,andforallPSsensors.
Chargingmustonlytakeplacewithinthespeciedtemperaturerange.Forbest
results,keeptheambienttemperaturebetween+10and+25°C.

Donotchargesensorsintemperaturesabove+50°Corbelow0°C!
