located.Thisprovides
youwithavaluable
rangeofapplications
forbottomandpelagic
trawling.
•Onabottomtrawl,
placethesensorbehindtheheadrope.Fromthispositionitwilltellyoutheheight
ofthetrawlopening.Thisallowsyoutoadjustyouequipmentimmediatelyifthe
openingisreduced,andyouwillavoidlosingcatch.
•Onapelagictrawl,placethesensorbehindthefootrope.Youwillthenknowatonce
ifthetrawlapproachesthebottom.Ifyouuseasecondsensorbehindtheheadrope,
thedifferencebetweenthetwomeasurementswillgiveyoutheheightofthetrawl
opening.
Thesensorcontainsasmallechosoundertomeasuretheheightabovethebottom.
