3Ensurethatmountingmaterialsonthesensordonotshortcircuitthecharginglugs.
Thismayberopes,wires,chainsorotheritemsthatobstructorshortcircuitthe
electricalconnectionsbetweenthepositiveandnegativechargerlugs.
Ifthesensorsurfaceiscoveredwithanexcessivelayerofsalt,thismayalsoactivate
thesensorandcausethebatterytorunout.Toxthis,washthesensorwithfresh
water.
4Useamultimeter,andcheckthevoltagebetweenthewaterswitchandthen
e g a t i v e
charginglug.
Ifthesensorbatteryisfullycharged,youwillmeasureapproximately12Vdc.
5Useamultimeter,andcheckthecurrentbetweenthewaterswitchandthen
e g a t i v e
charginglug.
Ifthesensorbatteryisfullycharged,youwillmeasureapproximately68µA.
6Usetheshortpieceofwire,andholditbetweenthewaterswitchandoneofthe
charginglugs.
Thiswillactivatethesensor.Ifthesensorisoperational,youwillseethatthe
internallampashes.Singlesensorswillashtheiridenticationstatus,while
dualsensorwillonlygiveasingleash.

Simradhasdevelopedadedicatedcomputerutilitytochangethesensorcongurations.
Bymeansofanordinarydesktopcomputerandaspecialinterfaceunityoucandothis
jobyourself.
