TheSimradPSChargerisanbatterychargerfor
securechargingofthePSandPIsensors.These
followingsensorscanbecharged:
•AllPSSensors
•PIBottomContact
•PICatch
•PIDepth
•PITemperature
•PIRemote(smallversion)
TheSimradPSChargercano
n l y beusedtochargethePIsensorslistedhere.
EventhoughthePSChargerisdesignedforchargingthePSsensors,itcanalsocharge
thePIsensors,butonlyatnormalchargerate.
Ifthechargerlampisilluminated,butthesensorlampdoesnotasheveryfourseconds,
thebatteryisnotbeingchargedproperly.Mostlikely,thisisbecausethesensorwasnot
switchedoffwhenthechargerwasconnected.Tocorrectthis,chargethesensorforten
minutes,thendisconnectthealligatorclips.Useasmallwire,andmakecontactbetween
thewaterswitchsensorandoneofthefasteninglugs.Thiswillcausethesensortoash
itsstart-upcode.Ifnot,washthesensorinfreshwatertodisengagethewaterswitch.
Observethesestepsfordailyoperationofthecharger.
1Connectthechargerto230V acor115V ac.
TheACvoltagerequiredbythechargerisprintedonthepanel.
2Ensurethatmountingmaterialsonthesensordonotshortcircuitthecharginglugs.
Thismayberopes,wires,chainsorotheritemsthatobstructorshortcircuitthe
electricalconnectionsbetweenthechargerandthesensor.
Note
Thechargingclampsonthebatterychargercablemustbeproperlysecuredontothe
charginglugswithmetalagainstmetal!
3Attachthechargingclampstothesensorasfollows:
aConnecttheRedclamptothepositive(+)fasteninglug
bConnecttheBlackclamptothenegative(–)fasteninglug
Oneverysensorthepolarityofthefasteninglugsareengravedonthesensorbody
using+and–characters.
4Whenthechargerisconnectedtothesensor,checkthechargerlamps.
Itwillashonceeveryfoursecondsduringcharging.
