IfyousetRangeto20metersandenabletheAutomaticStartDepthfeature,your
echogramwillalwaysbedrawntomakethebottomcontourappearclosetothe
bottomofyourechogrampresentation.Ifthewaterdepthexceeds20meters,the
ES70willautomaticallymovethestartrangedown.Therangeiskept,butasthe
startrangeismoved,thebottomcontourisstillvisible.
Procedure
1ObservetheMainmenu.ItisnormallylocatedontherighthandsideoftheES70
presentation.
2ObservetheStartRangebutton.
3Clickthemiddleofthebuttontoopenit.
4ClicktoenableAutomaticStartDepth.
5Clickthemiddleofthebuttontocloseit.
Choosingtheverticalrange
Thisprocedureexplainshowtosettheverticalrange;
thedistancefromtheseasurfaceanddowntothe
bottom.ThisverticalrangeiscontrolledbytheRange
buttonontheMainmenu.

Inabottomechogram,settheStartRangevalueto–5meters.Thiswillmakethe
echogramstartfrom5metersabovethebottom.SetRangetothe5metersplus
10=15meters.Theechogramwillnowshowtheareafrom5metersabovethe
depth,anddownto10meters“below”thebottom.Thebottomcontourwillappear
asaatline.
