Purpose
TheLANPortSetupdialogallowsyoutodenetheparametersforEthernet(Local
AreaNetwork(LAN))communicationwithexternalsensors(measuringdevices)or
peripheralsystems.
Description
Ethernet(LocalArea
Network(LAN))
communicationisan
efcientwaytoconnect
toexternalsensors,such
asaglobalpositioning
system(GPS)toreceive
navigationaldata.
Inorderforthis
communicationportto
work,theparametersmustbesetupproperly.
Parameters
1LocalIPAddress
ThisistheInternetProtocol(IP)addressofthelocalEthernetinterfaceboard.
Inmostcases,eachEthernetboardhasauniqueIPaddress,evenwhenaninterface
boardsupportsmultiplesockets.Ifyouhavemorethanoneinterfaceboard,youare
providedwithalistoftheavailableaddresses.
2Localport(UDP)
Thisportisimportantifyouwishtoreceive
information.Itmustmatchtheport
numberontheremotecomputer.
Tondtheportnumberontheremotecomputer,consultthedocumentationforthe
softwareutilitytobeused.Ifthedatacommunicationissetuptoonlytransmit
informationfromtheES70,thisparameterisnotrequired.
