Description
TheBottomDetectordialogprovides
separatelimitsforminimumand
maximumdepth.Theselimitsmay
beusedtoobtain”bottomlock”
onthedepthwhentheES70is
pinging.Thesounderneedsthis
locktolocatethecorrectdepth,and
tostayonitduringtheoperation,
eventhoughthedepthchanges
continuously.
TheBottomBackstepparameter
allowsyoutomanuallymodify
whereonthebottomechothedepth
shallbedetected.
Parameters
1BottomDetection
Thisfunctionallowsyouto
switchbottomdetectiononand
off.Clicktoactivateit.
2MinimumDepth
Thebottomdetectorstartsthesearchforthebottomechoatthisdepth.Thedetector
willfailinshallowwaterifyouselectatoolargedepthvalue,andthetailofthe
transmittingpulsemaycauseproblemsifatoosmallvalueisset.
YoucanenterthedesiredMinimumDepthvaluebydraggingthesliderupordown,
orbymeansofthespinbox.
3MaximumDepth
Thesearchforthebottomechoextendsdowntothisdepthwheneverbottomtrack
islost.Enteraslightlylargerdepthvaluethanthedeepestspotyouexpecttovisit
inordertoavoidannoyinglylongpingintervalseverytimebottomtrackislost.A
depthvalueofeither0orlessthantheminimumdepthdisablesthebottomdetector.
Note
Ifyousetmaximumdepthtoavalueidenticalorsmallerthantheminimumvalue,
thebottomdetectionalgorithmwillbedisabled.TheES70willthennotbeableto
detectthebottomatall,andthedisplayeddepthwillbe0.00m
YoucanenterthedesiredMaximumDepthvaluebydraggingthesliderupordown,
orbymeansofthespinbox.
