3RemoteIP
ThisistheInternetProtocol(IP)addressofaremotecomputer.
Ifyouwishtoexportinformationtoanothercomputer,youmusteitherdenethisIP
address,orenterIPbroadcastaddress255.255.255.255.Thebroadcastaddress
willallowallcomputersconnectedtothenetworktoreceivetheinformation.If
onlyyouwishtoreceiveinformationontheLANport,youdonotneedtodene
thisaddress.
4Remoteport
Ifyouwishtoestablishpoint-to-pointcommunicationfordataimportfroma
peripheraldeviceonthenetwork,youmayneedtodenethenetworkportonthe
remotecomputer.
Tondthisportnumber,consultthedocumentationforsoftwareutilitytobeused
ontheremotecomputer.
5Protocol
ThisisthecurrentprotocolspeciedfortheLANport.EachLANportcanreceive
multipletelegramssimultaneously,providedthatthetelegramsallusethesame
protocol.
6Input(s)
Thiscolumnisusedtoidentifytheexternalsensor(measuringdevice)currently
connectedtotheport.
Tochoosewhattypeofexternalsensortoimportdatafrom,clicktheInputbutton.
7Outputs(s)
Thiscolumnisusedtoidentifythedatathatareexportedontheport.
Tochoosewhichdatatoexport,clicktheOutputbutton.
8Add
ClickthisbuttontoaddanewLAN(Ethernet)port.
Thisisrequiredifyouhaveaddednewhardwaretothecomputer,forexampleby
installinganextraEthernetinterfaceboard.Ifyouhavepreviouslyreleasedan
unusedLANport,butwishtobringitbacktoES70use,youmustalsoclickthis
button.
9Remove
OncetheES70hasidentiedandlistedalltheavailableLANportsonthecomputer,
thesecannotbeusedbyanyothersoftwareapplicationsonthesamecomputer.
IftheES70doesnotneedaspecicLANport,itcanbereleasedforotheruse.Click
ontheapplicableporttoselectit,thenclicktheRemovebuttontodeletetheportfrom
thelist.Notethatnoacknowledgementisrequired,theportisremovedinstantly.
10Setup
InordertouseaLAN(Ethernet)porttoreceiveortransmitinformation,its
communicationparametersmustbesetuptomatchtheperipheraldevice.
Clickoneofthelistedportstoselectit,thenclicktheSetupbuttontosetuptheport
parameters.Adedicateddialogisprovided.
