manuallyselectadifferentduration.
IfyouclickAuto,theES70willautomaticallyselectthebestpulsedurationforthe
currentoperationalmode,depthandbottomconditions.
Tip
Thelengthofyourtransmittedpulseisveryimportanttohowyoucandetectsh.
Ashortpulsedurationgivesyouaveryneverticalresolution.Thisallowsyou
todetectscatteredsh,andyoucanndthosethatmovenearthebottom.
Alongpulsedurationthrowsalotmoreenergyintothewater,andthedigital
ltersusedbythereceiverarenarrower.
TheselterswillreducetheES70'ssensitivityfornoise,butthelengthofthe
transmittedpulsewillgiveyoustrongerechoes.Withthelters,alongerpulse
durationwillprovidelongerrange,butreducedverticalresolution.

showspulsedurationsinµSwhiletheY -axisshowsfrequencyinkHz.An“x”
meansthatthepulsedurationisavailableforthegivenfrequency.
