mode)andnoise(presentinbothActiveandPassivemodes).
Tip
Ifyouwishtoinvestigatetheambientnoise,choosePassivemodeinthe
NormalOperationdialog.Anynoiseordisturbanceinthewaterwithinthe
transducer'sfrequencyrangewillthenbedetectedandshown.Thisfeature
willforexamplebeabletopickupdisturbancesfromotherhydroacoustic
systemsonyourownvessel,oronothervesselsinthevicinity.

Thetransmitterispassivewhilethereceiverisactive.
EachGeneralPurposeTransceiver(GPT)boardincludesasignalgenerator
injectingaweaktestsignal(-70.0dBW)intothereceiversinputcircuitry.The
nominalpowerreadingatthedisplayis-70.0dBWforchannelsusingone
transceiverboard(1kWsinglebeam)and-64.0dBWforchannelsusingfour
boards(4kWsinglebeam,4kWsplitbeam).
Notethatthisfeatureisdisabledonsomehigh-frequenttransceiversinorder
toimprovetheperformance.
