functionallowsyoutorecordtherawdatadirectlyfromthetransceiver.Theamountof
datayoucanrecordisonlylimitedbythesizeofyourstoragemedia.

ThePingfunctionisactivatedbyclickingthePingbuttonontheOperationmenu.
Purpose
ThepurposeofthePingfunctionistoenableordisabletheES70audiotransmissions
intothewater(“pinging”).
Description
Theaudiotransmission(“pinging”)fromtheES70can
beswitchedofforon.Clickthemiddleofthebuttonto
openthesub-menu,oreithersidetoenableordisable
transmission.Thepingsymbolontherightsideofthe
buttonisalsousedtotransmitsinglepings.
Oncepingingisswitchedon,youcanusethePingModefunctiontochoosehowoften
theES70shalltransmitsoundintothewater.

The“pingrate”istheparameterthatcontrolshowoftentheechosoundershalltransmit
acousticenergy(a“ping”)intothewater.
IfyouobserveapelagicechoontheES70,anditseemstofollowthebottomcontour,it
mayinfactbeafalseechofromtheprevioustransmission(“ping”).Theonlywayto
removethisfalseechoistoreducethepingrate.Ifyoudothis,alltheechoesfromthe
previouspingwillhavedisappearedbeforeyoutransmitthenext.Onoldpaperbased
