PoweringdowntheES70

Purpose

ThisprocedureexplainshowtopowerofftheSimradES70.

Note

YoumustneverswitchofftheES70onlybymeansoftheon/offswitchonthecomputer .

Thismaydamagethesoftwareortheinterfaceparametersforexternaldevices.You

mustALWAYSusethisprocedure.

Procedure

1ClicktheExitbutton.

ItislocatedontheTitleBarinthetoprightcorneroftheES70presentation.

2ObservethattheES70applicationclosesdown.

3Ifthecomputerdoesnotswitchitselfoffautomatically,usethefunctionality

providedbytheoperatingsystemtoswitchitoffmanually.

4Switchoffthecolourdisplay.

Ifrequired,refertotheinstructionsprovidedbythedisplaymanufacturer.

5Switchoffthetransceiver(s).

TheGeneralPurposeTransceiver(GPT)isnotprovidedwithanon/offswitch.

Unlessadedicatedsolutionhasbeenprovidedduringtheinstallationtofacilitate

poweron/off,youcanleavethetransceiver(s)on.However,ifyouknowthatthe

ES70isnottobeusedforalongerperiodoftime,disconnectthepowertothe

transceiver(s).

Startingnormaloperation

OnceyouhavepoweredupthecompleteES70system,youarereadytostarttheactual

operation.

Whenstartedup,theES70willautomaticallyapplyitsprevioussetupparameters.

TheproceduresassumethattheES70hasatleastonefrequencychannel(transceiverand

transducer)readilyconnected.Ifthisisnotthecase,observetherelevantinstallation

procedure.

Theseproceduresarepartlyprovidedtogetyouacquaintedwiththebasicfunctionality

providedbytheES70,andpartlytosetupthesystemfornormaluse.Ifyoualready

knowtheES70,orthecurrentparametersareacceptable,youdonotneedtocarryout

theprocedures.
