TheSizeDistributioninformationpaneis
onlyavailableifyourES70isequippedwith
oneormoresplitbeamtransceivers.
TheSizeDistributioninformationpane
showsahistogramofthesingleshechoes
detected.Thecalculationisbasedon
theparametersyouhaveselectedinthe
CalculationIntervaldialog;time,pingor
achosenpartofthecurrentview.Itthus
providesavisualindicationonhowlarge
theshesarewithinthechoseninterval.
Onlytheshesdetectedbythecurrenttransducerfrequencyareshown.
Thelargenumberabovethehistogramshowstheaveragesizeofalltheshesinthe
histogram.ThevalueispresentedintheunityouhavechosenintheUnitsdialog.For
anaccuratex-axisvalue,placethecursoronaverticalbarinthehistogram,andread
thevaluefromthelabel.
TheabbreviationTSiscommonlyused.Itmeans“TargetStrength”,andthisisa
measureofhowstrongechotheindividualshesinthecurrentechogramgenerate.
Theechostrengthindicatesthesizeoftheshes.TheSizeDistributioninformation
panethusprovidesamathematicalestimateofthesizesofallthechosenshspeciesin
theechogram.
Thetargetstrengthfromashvariesfromspecietospecie.Tochangetheshspecies,
usetheFishSelectdialogopenedontheSetupmenu.
