Installationrequirements
InstallationoftheEK60ProcessorUnitmustbeperformedbyqualiedandtrained
personnel.Observethefollowinggeneralguidelinesforinstallation.
•Thesafenavigationofthevessel.
•The“Compasssafedistance”foreachindividualunit.
•Ergonomicallycorrectoperatingandviewingheights.
•Maximumallowablecabledistancesbetweenthevariousunits.
•Theinstallationareasaredry,wellventilatedandfreeofexcessivedustandvibration.
•Easyaccesstothecableconnectionsonthebackoftheequipmentisprovided.
•Enoughextracableisallowedtofacilitatemaintenanceandservicebynothaving
todisconnectthecables.
Computerinstallation
ThissectiondescribestheinstallationoftheEK60ProcessorUnitcomputer.
Preparations
Provideamplespacearoundthecomputer.Thisisnecessarytoreachandusethefront
andrearmountedUSBconnectors,andtheCD/DVDplayer.Itisalsoimportantto
allowforeasyaccesstoallthecables,andtoprovideforinspection,maintenanceand
partsreplacement.
Makesurethatthecomputercanbefullyopenedforunobstructedaccesstoitsinternal
parts.
•Thecomputercanbeinstalledinsideaconsole,inacabinetor19”rack,oronadesk.
•Makesurethatadequateventilationisavailabletoavoidoverheating.
•Thecompasssafedistancemustbeallowedforwhenplanningthelocationoftheunit.
•Ensurethattheinstallationallowsforthephysicalmovementsandforcesnormally
experiencedonavessel.
•Ensurethatenoughspaceisprovidedformaintenancework.

1Preparethemountinglocation.

2Locatethefootprintdrawing(357424)providedwiththecomputer.
Usethefootprintdrawingtopositionthebaserails.
3Disassemblethebaserailsfromthecomputerbyremovingthetwofrontbaserail
screws.
4Attachthebaserailsasshowninthegure.
