3ObservetheRangebuttonontheMainmenu.

TheRangefunctionallowsyoutospecifytheverticalrangeofthewatercolumn

coveredbytheechogram.Therangeisdenedfromaselectedstartrange,and

downtoavaluebeneaththecurrentbottomdepth.Thevalueshownandselectedis

bydefaultappliedonlytothecurrentlyselectedechogram.

4ObservetheStartRangebuttonontheMainmenu.

TheStartRangefunctionallowsyoutospecifythestartdepthoftheechogram,that

isfromwhichdepthinthewatercolumnthepresentationshallstart.Thevalue

shownandselectedisappliedtothecurrentlyselectedechogramtype.Inasurface

relatedechogram,youcanclickAutomaticStartDepthtoallowtheES70toselect

thestartrangeautomatically.

Inasurfaceechogram,settheStartRangevalueto0meters.This

willmaketheechogramstartfromtheseasurface(providedthatthe

transduceroffsethasbeendened).SetRangetothecurrentdepthplus

20meters.Theechogramwillnowshowtheareafromtheseasurface

anddownto20meters“below”thebottom.Thebottomcontouris

easilydetectedwhenthedepthchanges.

Inasurfaceechogram,settheStartRangevalueto10meters.Thiswill

maketheechogramstartfrom10metersbelowtheseasurface(provided

thatthetransduceroffsethasbeendened).SetRangetothecurrent

depthplus20meters.Theechogramwillnowshowtheareafrom10

metersbelowtheseasurface,anddownto10meters“below”the

bottom.Thebottomcontouriseasilydetectedwhenthedepthchanges.

5SetRangetoAuto,andsetStartRangeto0.

Observethechangesmadetothesurfacerelatedechogram.

6Clickinabottomrelatedechogramtomakeit“active”.

7ObservetheRangeandStartRangebuttonsontheMainmenu.
