ThisdialogisusedtodenewhichcolourscaletouseontheES70presentations.

colourscaleisimmediatelyshownintheColourScaleinformationpane.

Whenthecolourscaleuses12colours,eachcolouralwaysrepresentsa3dBvalue

range.Using12coloursthusenablesmappingofa36dBvaluerangetocolours.

1ClicktheSizeDistributioniconontheTitleBartoopentheSizeDistribution

informationpane.

TheSizeDistributioninformationpaneshowsahistogramof

thesingleshechoesdetected.Thecalculationisbasedonthe

parametersyouhaveselectedintheCalculationIntervaldialog;time,

pingorachosenpartofthecurrentview.Itthusprovidesavisual

indicationonhowlargetheshesarewithinthechoseninterval.

Onlytheshesdetectedbythecurrenttransducerfrequencyareshown.

Thelargenumberabovethehistogramshowstheaveragesizeofalltheshesinthe

histogram.ThevalueispresentedintheunityouhavechosenintheUnitsdialog.

Foranaccuratex-axisvalue,placethecursoronaverticalbarinthehistogram,and

readthevaluefromthelabel.

TheabbreviationTSiscommonlyused.Itmeans“TargetStrength”,andthisisa

measureofhowstrongechotheindividualshesinthecurrentechogramgenerate.

Theechostrengthindicatesthesizeoftheshes.TheSizeDistributioninformation

panethusprovidesamathematicalestimateofthesizesofallthechosenshspecies

intheechogram.
