SYMPTOM INSPECT ACTION
Noise on display at high boat speeds, or
when engine is put into gear.
Is acoustical noise coming from
propeller?
Ensure that propeller is clean,
undamaged (has no "nicks").
Is acoustical noise coming from shafting
or machinery?
Isolate sources of interference. Operate
one shaft/ propeller at a time, etc.
Consider different mounting for
transducer to minimize interference. See
Transducer section.
Is electrical noise coming from
alternator, generator, dirty shaft
grounding contact?
Isolate sources of interference by
selectively disabling them. Install filters
if/as necessary.
5.2.4 Troubleshooting Procedure
For all fault finding, first check the line voltage to insure that it is providing the
necessary levels to insure operation.
5.3 REPAIR AND SERVICE
The EQ 55 is sealed and does not contain any user serviceable parts. Opening of this
unit will void its warranty. Touching electrical parts inside may cause bodily harm or
death. If the EQ 55 requires servicing or repair call your authorized SIMRAD dealer.
5.4 SPARE PARTS
Fuses may be bought from a handler or a marine supply store. If you require a
SIMRAD part, please contact your authorized SIMRAD dealer.
