Asteelcableglandisnormallyusedonprofessionalvesselswithsteelhulls.Abronze
cableglandcanbedeliveredasanoptionforvesselswithwoodorbreglasshulls.
Vesselnottobeclassiedcanasanoptionuseacableglandmadeofplastic.
Note
Simradstronglyrecommendsthatalengthofconduitisttedaroundtransducercable
glandsmadeofsteelorbronzeandextendedoverthewater-lineinsidethevessel.This
precautionreducesthedangerofoodingintheeventofglandfailureandtransducers
installedinthismannerarealsoeasiertoreplace.
Somevesselsmayexperiencedifcultiesndingsuitableareasofthehullformounting
transducercableglandsduetoexistingwatertanks,concreteballastorotherobstacles.A
possiblesolutioninsuchcasesistorunthetransducercablesinasteelconduitaftalong
thehulluntilasuitablecableglandlocationisavailable.Therespectivecableglandcan
thenbeinstalledasdescribedinthefollowinginstructions.
