Designed for I-joists, the THAI has extra long straps and can be field-formed to give height
adjustability and top flange hanger convenience. Positive angle nailing helps eliminate splitting of
the I-joist’s bottom flange.

1. Uplift loads are based on DF/SP lumber and have been increased for wind or
earthquake loading with no further increase allowed. Reduce where other loads
govern. For SPF/HF use 0.86 x DF/SP uplift load.
2. The minimum header depth to achieve the maximum nail configuration is 16".
3. For the THAI3522 supporting a 2

The GU hangers are a high-capacity girder hangers designed for situations where the
header and joist are flush at top. This part can be used for retrofit on the framing members
after they are temporarily placed in position. It uses Simpson Strong-Tie

screws (SDS) to make installation fast and easy, with no pre-drilling required.
