Air Delivery System
Overview
The air volume required to move the product from the Air
Seeder bin to the sowing boots is supplied by a hydraulically
driven aluminum impellor encased in a cast housing.
Air is drawn into the impellor through the hydraulic system oil
cooler. The oil cooler is
mounted on the rear of the bin
high enough to clear raised
dust and trash produced by the
sowing operation. The oil
cooler serves a dual purpose in
that it keeps the hydraulic oil
at an acceptable temperature
and also provides heat to warm
and dry the air as it passes
through into the air stream.
The oil cooler is protected by a
relief valve which is pressure
set in the factory to divert oil in
the case of a pressure build up.
A pressure build up is
commonly caused by a
restriction in the hydraulic
return line usually being a quick
release coupling being
uncoupled.
The blower is driven by a hydraulic motor, which in itself
requires no maintenance. However it is most important that
the oil is kept clean by paying particular attention to the
cleanliness of hydraulic couplings and regular filter
replacement. The filter has a service indicator fitted which is
clear during normal operation. If the indicator turns
RED at
any time during normal operation the filter is blocked and the
oil is bypassing. Urgent filter replacement is required when
indicator is
RED at anytime during normal operation only.
