NORMAL CARE CONTENT OF SECTION Your rotary tiller was designed and built to provide years of service with only minor care. Certain tasks, however, must be performed o keep ihe tiller in good operating condition and 1o avoid costly repairs. 10 LUBRICATION ENGINE Deter to engine operating instructions for all engine lubrication requirements. CHAIN CASES Both the wheel drive and the tine drive cases are amply filled with lubricant and should ot require additional lubrication. if a fleck develops, add lead base (EP} SAE 140 heavy duty oil as required 1o bring fo proper oil level. Check oil prior fo operation and offer every 28 hours of operating dime. The following procedure should be followed to check lubricant level of cases.
A3 DRIVE LINKAGE The following points should be lubricated with engine oil every eight hours (see Fig. 13). Before oiling, clean off ares to be lubricated. IMPORTANT: Apply oil and grease carefully and only where requited. Oil or grease on drive bats or pulleys will cause slippage and ions of drive. — —sa— BELT REPLACEMENT ~ The belts on this filler were specifically designed and engineered to provide long, trouble-free service. If belt replacement is required, order belt from your Simplicity denier, 10 be sure you have a belt that will provide the life and service required. TINE DRIVE BELT Place the crutch lever in the neutral position. . Remove the bat guard. . Remove ihe belt guide (Fig.17). Sip the bat off the fine drive case pulley. .
ADJUSTMENTS A WARNING To avoid serious injury, perform adjustments on filler only when the engine is stopped. TINE DRIVE BELT The tine drive belt, which is the outer belt,is disgusted by ’ loosening the clamp cap screws (Fig. 18) and rotating the entire case and ting assembly. CLUTCH CONTROL LEVER ADJUSTMENT The clutch control lever is per-set ot the factory.
