THIS PRODUCT PRODUCES POISONOUS EXHAUST FUMES
AS SOON AS THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. THESE GASES MAY
BE COLOURLESS AND ODOURLESS. TO REDUCE THE RISK
OF SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURY, NEVER RUN THE MACHINE
INDOORS, OR IN POORLY VENTILATED AREAS. ENSURE
PROPER VENTILATION WHEN WORKING IN TRENCHES OR
OTHER CONFINED SPACES.
Chainsaw Safety
• Alwayschecktheworkareaforhiddenobjects,fencing,cablesetc.
Ensure that material to be cut does not contain any form of foreign
objects. Only use this chainsaw to cut wood. Be sure that it is safe to cut
before beginning a job.
• Alwayswearappropriatesafetyequipment.Useofthistoolrequiresthe
use of gloves, eye / face protection, dust mask, ear defenders, hard hat,
and sturdy clothing.
• Ifthechainsawbecomesjammed,switchoffimmediately.Allowthe

• Bepreparedforthepossibilityofkickback.Undersomecircumstances,
if used incorrectly, the chainsaw may be thrown back towards the user.
Proper use, and proper maintenance will significantly reduce the chance
of kickback occurring.
• Neverpassarmsorlegsbelowthebladewhencutting.Alwaysstand
back from the cutting area, in a stable position.
• Checkthatotherpeopleareasafedistanceawayfromyouworkarea
before starting to cut. If tree felling, all other people should be a minimum
distance equal to twice the height of the tree away. Never allow children
or pets near to the work area.

what treatments your wood may have had, do not cut.
• Ifyouintendtofellatree,alwaysplananescaperoutebeforecutting.
Ensure that there is a clear space behind you, at least twice as far as the
tree is tall. The escape route should be clear of all obstructions that could
cause you to trip.

Product Familiarisation
• Assesyourownphysicalcondition.Usingachainsaw,evenasmaller
model, is physically demanding. Do not start a job unless you are
confident that you are fit and strong enough to complete it. Never use a
chainsaw when tired, unwell, or under the influence of any kind of drugs
or alcohol.
Unpacking and Assembling Your
Chainsaw
Ensure that all parts of your chainsaw are present and in good condition.
If any part is missing, or damaged, have such parts replaced before
attempting to use this tool.

bolts (13).
• Placethecuttingbaroverthethreadedrodsandundertheclutch

• Positionthesawchainaroundthecuttingbar(2),anddrivesprocket.
Ensure that the chain is fitted the correct way round; the teeth on the top
of the blade should face forward.
• Replacethecoverplate,whilstaligningthetensioningpeg.Donotfully
tighten.
• Useascrewdrivertoturnthetensionscrew(12),removemostofthe

Before Use
Checking chain tension
• Rotatethetensionscrew(12)clockwise,untilthereisonlyapprox5mm
of slack when the chain is pulled vertically from the centre of the cutting
bar.
• Fullytightencoverplateandrecheckchaintension.
NOTE: Chain tension should be checked regularly. The chain will stretch as
it is used. An excessively loose chain may derail, an excessively tight chain
will wear quickly and could break.
Filling chain oil reservoir
• Thismachineisequippedwithachainoilreservoir.Oilisautomatically
fed onto the chain as the saw is used. Using the saw without oil, or with
the incorrect oil, will cause rapid wear and could lead to chain breakage.
