Audio
Set the default audio language to be used for film playback.
Subtitle
Set the default subtitle language to be used for film playback.
Disc Menu
Set the default disc menu language to be used for film playback.
Parental
Some DVDs are encoded with encryption signals. DVDs can be divid-
ed into eight different ratings.
Select one of the following ratings to protect playback of media
with this rating with a password prompt:
1 KID SAFE: also suitable for young children;
2 G: for all age groups;
3 PG: parental supervision recommended;
4 PG 13: parental supervision strictly recommended; some
scenes not suitable for teenagers under 12;
5 PGR: parental supervision recommended for young
people under the age of 16;
6 R: parental supervision strongly recommended for
young people under 16;
7 NC17: not for young people under 18 years of age;
8 ADULT: no restriction.
For example: For example, if a DVD has been encoded with the rating
7 or 8 and you have set one of ratings 1 to 6, a message appears
and the password must be entered. Parts of a DVD (i.e. certain scenes)
may also be encoded with a rating or a range of ratings.
To activate the age rating function, select a rating class and then
enter your password in the subsequent password query by using
the numberson the numeric keypad

. The default password is
888888.
Confirm your entry by pressing ENTER

Password
Password Mode: Select the setting "On" if you want to enter a pass-
word for DVD films with an age limit or rating. Select the setting "Off"
if no password is to be entered.
Password: Here you can change the default password (888888)
and assign your own password. Only the digits 0–9 can be used.
To change the password, select "Change" and confirm the selec-
tion with ENTER
.
Enter the current password in the "Old Password" field using the
numbers in the numeric keypad

. The marking jumps to the next
line "New Password".
Enter the new password using the numbers on the numeric key-
pad

.
The marking jumps to the next line "Confirm PWD".
Enter the new password using the numbers on the numeric key-
pad

. The marker jumps to the OK field.
Press ENTER
. The password is now changed.
NOTE
If you forget your password, you can use the default main pass-
word (123456).
Default
Restores the DVD player
A
to its factory defaults.
Select the entry "Reset" and confirm the selection with ENTER
.

select the desired setting. The selected setting is indicated by the
red typeface with the hand icon in front of it.

settings. It is not necessary to confirm the entries. The Setup menu
disappears after a short time and the entries are automatically
saved.
