Troubleshooting
This section contains important information about fault identification and rectifica-
tion. Follow the instructions to avoid hazards and damage.
Fault causes and remedies
The following table will help you to identify and rectify minor malfunctions:
Fault Possible cause Remedy
There is nothing on 
the display

The plug is not plugged in. Insert the power plug into the socket.
The mains socket is not 
supplying power.
Check the house mains fuse.
The display is switched off 
automatically or manually.
Press any button on the device.
No sound.
The volume is set to mini-
mum.
Increase the volume using the 
−VOLUME+ | 
 /FUNC. 1 dial.
The device is in clock/stand-
by mode.
You can switch the device to radio 
operation by pressing the 
−VOLUME+ | 
 /FUNC. 1 dial.
The external playback 
device is muted in AUX 
operation.
Un-mute the external playback 
device.
The audio cable
 is incor-
rectly connected in AUX 
operation.
Ensure that the audio cable is cor-
rectly connected to the AUX input

and the external playback device.
Interference with the 
radio reception.
The reception is weak.
Try to improve the reception by 
relocating the wire aerial

Press and hold the

q for around 2seconds to 
receive the station in mono.
The time, the date 
and the station pre-
sets are reset after a 
power failure.
There are no batteries in the 
battery compartment

ciently charged and replace them if

serted the wrong way round
