Your NAVTEX is now ready to use all you need to decide is
the following:
What stations do I wish to receive –
Select by letter on screen (for northern European waters see appendix 2).
What types of message do I wish to receive –
Select by letter on screen (see appendix 3).
It pays to be selective - The more selective you are the less likely you will
be swamped with irrelevant information from stations some distance
away from your vessel.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Dimensions: 460mm(H) X 40mm(dia)
Weight: 750gms
Voltage/Power: 12 Volts DC (10-15Volts), 25mA (0.3 Watts).
Receiver: double superheterodyne 2 channel
switchable(490 & 518khz).
Output: Forward error-corrected (FEC) NAVTEX data as
serial ASCII at 9600 baud, 8-bits, no parity, 1 stop bit,
no handshake.
Mounting: Fits any standard antenna mount with 1”/14TPI fitting.
The S15-N comes supplied as standard with:
1) 10 metres cable with 5 pin mini DIN plug.
2) S15 adaptor cable with 2-way slide switch (490/518Khz) and a 9-
pin serial port connector for connection to a PC.
3) 12V power cable for NAVTEX antenna when used with PC.
4) Terminal emulator software for use with PC.
