Regulatory Approval Requirements (SX-560-2701)
The SX-SDCAG used in the SX-560-2701 has FCC and IC Limited Modular Approval. This allows you to
use the SX-560 with the SX-SDCAG in your device without any further agency testing for intentional
radiation compliance (FCC Part 15 Subparts C & E and IC RSS-210). This Limited Modular Approval has
the following requirements:
You must put the SX-SDCAG FCC or IC number in a visible location on your product. These
numbers are as follows:
FCCID: N6C-SXSDCAG
IC: 4908B-SXSDCAG
You must use an antenna shown in Appendix D. If you use a similar type antenna, it must have a
gain that is less than or equal to the gain of these antennas. If you do not satisfy this criteria, the
Limited Modular Approval no longer applies and you must recertify your product for compliance
with intentional radiation regulatory requirements.
In order to help meet unintentional radiation standards (for example, FCC Part 15 Subpart B),
Silex recommends a ferrite on the antenna cable You must evaluate your system with the SX-
560-2701 installed to determine if this is required.
There must be at least 20cm between the SX-560 antenna and the human body to avoid the
possibility of exceeding the FCC radio frequency exposure limits. If your device requires smaller
distances, then you must test your device as a system with the SX-560 for compliance with
Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) requirements.
The antenna must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or
transmitter within a host device, except in accordance with FCC multi-transmitter product
procedures. OEM integrators and end-users must be provided with transmitter operating
conditions for satisfying RF exposure compliance.
Device is approved for use in products operating under mobile RF Exposure conditions with
respect to 2.1091. Separate approval is required for all other operating configurations, including
portable configurations with respect to 2.1093 and antenna configurations other than those listed
in this manual.
Installation is limited to OEM integrators under the condition that the OEM integrator provides
regulated DC power to the modules.
OEM integrators are instructed to ensure that the end-user has no manual instructions to remove
or install the device.
Operation in the 5.15-5.25 GHz band is restricted to indoor use only.
IMPORTANT: Modular Approval only covers intentional radiation requirements. Although the SX-560 is designed to
comply with FCC Part 15 Subpart B Class B unintentional radiation requirements, it is your responsibility to ensure that
your device complies with unintentional radiation requirements when the SX-560 is installed.
