3.5 Flexputs
™
I/O Circuits
The six Flexput™ circuits are an innovative and versatile feature of the 5895XL panel. They
can be used as: Class A or B notification circuits, Class A or B initiation circuits (either 2 or 4
wire detectors), or as auxiliary power (resettable, continuous, or door holder).
This section of the manual explains how to install conventional notification appliances and
initiating devices to be used with the 5895XL.
3.5.1 Conventional Notification Appliance
This sub-section of the manual explains how to install conventional notification appliances for
Class A (Style Z) and Class B (Style Y) configurations.
3.5.2 Releasing Operations
Approved releasing solenoids are list in Table 3-1. Do not mix cross alarming zones with
smoke verification zones. There must be at least two automatic detection devices in each
protected space. Spacing must be reduced to 0.7 times the linear spacing in accordance with
NFPA 72.
3.5.2.1 Class B Notification Wiring
You must use an appliance from the list of compatible appliances in the Appendix A.
To install a Class B notification appliance circuit:
1. Wire Class B Notification appliances as shown in Figure 3-8.
2. Configure the circuit through programming.
