1. Introduction
1-1. Overview of the 065-7726SPOE / 065-7726SPOE-FP
The Signamax 065-7726SPOE (and the 065-7726SPOE-FP full-power PoE version), a
24 Fast Ethernet + 2 Gigabit L2 Managed Switch, implemented with 24 10/100 Mbps TP + 2
Gigabit dual media ports with TP/SFP, is a standard switch that meets all IEEE 802.3/u/x/z
Gigabit, Fast Ethernet and Ethernet specifications. These switches can be managed through a
RS-232 serial port via direct connection, or through an Ethernet port using Telnet or Web-based
management unit, associated with the SNMP agent. With the SNMP agent, the network
administrator can logon to the switch to monitor, configure and control each port’s activity in a
friendly way. The overall network management is enhanced and the network efficiency is also
improved to accommodate high bandwidth applications. In addition, the switch features
comprehensive and useful function such as QoS (Quality of Service), Spanning Tree, VLAN,
Port Trunking, Bandwidth Control, Port Security, SNMP/RMON and IGMP Snooping capability
via the intelligent software. It is suitable for both metro-LAN and office application.
These PSE switches also comply with IEEE 802.3af; their advanced auto-sensing
algorithm enables providing powered device (PD) discovery, classification, current limit, and
other necessary functions. It also supports high levels of safety, with short circuit protection and
power-out auto-detection to a PD. Operationally, the 065-7726SPOE model and the 065-
7726SPOE-FP model have the same management command and control structure and
capabilities. The 065-7726SPOE model has a 185 Watt PoE / 215 Watt total power supply that
supports up to 24 Power Class 1 or 2 Powered Devices, or up to 12 Power Class 3 or Power
Class 0 Powered Devices. The 065-7726SPOE-FP model has a larger, more powerful 380 Watt
PoE / 500 Watt total power supply that supports up to 24 Power Class 1, 2, 3, or Power Class 0)
Powered Devices.

Two types of media --- TP and SFP Fiber
10/100/1000 Mbps TP is a standard Ethernet port that meets all IEEE 802.3/u/x/z Gigabit,
Fast Ethernet specifications. 1000 Mbps SFP Fiber transceiver is a Gigabit Ethernet port that
fully complies with all IEEE 802.3z and 1000BaseSX/LX/UX/ZX/EZX standards.
The 1000 Mbps Single Fiber WDM (BiDi) SFP transceiver is designed with an optic
Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology that transports bi-directional full duplex
signals over a single fiber simultaneously.
For upgrading firmware, please refer to the Section 3-21 or Section 4-2-2 for more
details. The switch will not stop operating while upgrading firmware and after that, the
configuration remains unchanged.
