Installation Instructions

The SC8-ADTX Radio Transmitter is an integral component of the Radio Fire Alarm Box system.
No field repairs or adjustments are allowed by the end user. A factory technician is the only
person allowed to service the Radio Fire Alarm Box. If it is decided that the SC8-ADTX Radio
Transmitter is not operating properly, replace the transmitter as follows.
Completely power down the Fire Radio Alarm Box
Loosen but do not remove the 2 screws securing the SC8-ADTX transmitter to the
backplate
Slide the transmitter sideways to remove it from the backplate.
Disconnect the Antenna cable connector from the transmitter
Disconnect the Power/Signal connector from the transmitter
Install a new transmitter which is factory programmed to the same channel frequency
Connect the Antenna cable to the new transmitter through an In-Line Wattmetter with
a 2.5 Watt element rated for 72-76 MHz.
Connect the Power/Signal connectors to the new transmitter
Place the new transmitter onto the backplate by sliding the mounting tabs under the
screws and tighten the screws to secure the new transmitter to the backplate
Power the Radio Fire Alarm Box and verify that the transmitter is working properly by
reading 1W RF power burst 1 second in duration (repeated twice)
After verifying proper operation, disconnect the In-Line Wattmeter and connect the
antenna cable directly to the SC8-ADTX transmitter.
