SPOT METERING
The camera will measure the brightness only inside of the selected
focusing point on the color LCD monitor. This mode is suitable when you
wish to set exposure for a portion of the scene and ignore the influence of
rest of the scene.
AF/AEL BUTTON
The sd Quattro has the button
that enables Focus Lock shooting [AFL]
and AE Lock shooting [AEL].
These functions can be used freely by
using the switch. The initial setting at each
position is as follows.
Position
AEL
The camera will fix and memorize the exposure
value whilst the button is depressed.
It is possibl
e to continue taking pictures with
the memorized exposure value until this
setting is disabled by pressing the
button again.
Position
AFL
Press the button to lock the focus.
Images will be
taken with the same focusing
point until the button is p
ressed
again. (Exposure can be locked whe
n
pressing shutter “half-way”.)

In addition to the standard Focus Lock/AE Lock functions, the following
functions can be allocated to the button.
