6. Inspect the pistol exterior.
a. Inspect the general condition of the pistol.
b. Check the sights, body, slide, and takedown lever for damage.
c. Verify the front and rear sights are secure.

WARNING – INSPECTION
Never use a firearm or magazine that shows signs of damage or fails a function
check. Verify the magazine is the correct model and caliber for the pistol. If the
condition or function of the pistol or magazine is suspect, return the pistol or
magazine to SIG SAUER for evaluation.
