Using power strips
Power strips provide a convenient way to control power to computing
components. However...
SCSI protocol requires that the digitizer be powered first and the PC
powered second. This cannot happen if both digitizer and PC are
connected to the same power strip, and you use the power strip’s switch
to turn the entire system on (as shown below, left).
If you want to use power strips, you must use separate power strips for
digitizer and PC (as shown below, right). This enables you to turn on the
digitizer and PC using the proper sequence:
1. Turn on the digitizer.
2. Wait for the digitizer’s LED to turn solid green.
3. Turn on the PC.
