TheHostIPistheIPofthecomputeryouareusingtocontact
themodem.Thisisforreturnmessagesandmodemmaybe
abletodetermineitwithouttheneedtosetitspecifically.Use
thissettingonlyifyouarehavingproblemscommunicating
withthemodem.
Tip: If you don’t know the IP of your computer (i.e. you are on a
network where your IP is assigned dynamically), you can use http://
checkip.dyndns.org/ to show you the IP you are using on the Internet.
Note: If you are on a network
which uses NAT to allow several
computers to use the same
Internet connection, you will
need to have the NAT device
forward ports 17300 to 17400 to
your computer.
Using PPP
Ifyourmodemisconnectedtoyourcomputerwithaserial
cable(RavenX,PinPointX,PinPoint,orRaven),youcanuse
thisoptiontoconnectdirectly.Fromthedropdownmenu,
selecttheCOMport(serialport)towhichthemodemis
connectedonyourcomputerandenterthepassword(default
is12345).
Note: If you need to by-pass the current configuration of the modem,
you can use SOS Mode while you connect.

Tip: You can use PPP to connect to a modem with USB if the USB
port on the modem is configured to work as a virtual serial port. You
cannot use SoS Mode with a USB connection.
