Wiring the PinPoint-E for DTR Event

Followingthedirectionsinforwiringaswitchtotheserial
porttotheDTRpinoftheserialport,commonlyacontactor
voltagecontrolledbythekeyswitch,youcanconfigurethe
PinPoint‐Etochangethepowermodeinresponsetothe
ignitionoranyotherspecificevent.
Caution: If either DTR or RTS have been configured to be used as
digital inputs, then low power mode cannot be configured to respond
to DTR.
Power Effect on Modem State
Oncethetransitionfrompoweredontostandby,low‐power
modestarts,themodemwillchangestatetoATmode.This
resultsinthecurrentmodebeinggracefullyterminated.For
thebriefperiodwhenthemodemispreparingforlow‐power
mode,themodemwillremaininATmode.Atthat
time,it
wonʹtauto‐answer,ATDwillfail,etc.Oncelow‐powermodeis
entered,themodemwillthendiscardanydatareceivedonthe
hostport.
Whenthemodemiswokenfromlow‐powermode,thesame
behavioroccursasuponpoweron.ThemodemstartsinAT
mode,andthenafter5secondswillenterthedefaultstart‐up
modeasitisconfiguredforthemodem.
