ThisQuickStartguideprovidesstep‐by‐stepdirectionsfor

activatingyourRavenXEonyourcellularprovider’snetwork.

Tip: For additional configuration options, refer to the User Guide for

your Raven XE.

Installing the SIM

TheSubscriberIdentityModule(SIM)intheRavenXEisa

smartcardthatsecurelystoresthekeyidentifyingacellular

subscriber.Generally,youwillonlyneedtoinstallaSIMonce

inthelifeofthemodemanditmaybepre‐installedbyyour

SierraWirelessRepresentative.

1. Before you start

IftheSIMwaspre‐installed,unlessyouneedtosetacustom

APN,activationofyourmodemiscomplete.SkiptotheRaven

XEPlacementsectionand/ortotheDUNinstructions,ifyou

needDial‐UpNetworking.

Cellular Account Required

• CellularAccountRequired‐Touseyourmodem,you

needtohaveaSIMwithanactiveaccountinadata plan,

withyourcellularprovider(EDGE o rHSUPA/HSDPA).

Software Required

• AceManager‐GraphicalinterfaceforenteringmostAT
