Note: Use the Windows NT
Diagnostics window to locate an
available IRQ and I/O space.
Make note of the COM Port that
you use to install the network
card driver. You must enter the
same COM Port when installing
the modem driver.
6. Usethedrop‐downmenustoselectanI/OPort,Interrupt,
Memory,andCOMPort,notingthattheAirCardrequires
1IRQand40bytesofI/OSpace.Click
Continue.
7. Selectthe
Obtain an IP address from a DHCP Serverradio
buttonandclickthe
Closebutton.
8. Click
YestoconfirmthatyouwanttouseDHCP.
9. Click
NoifpromptedtorestartyourPC.(Youwillrestart
thecomputerlaterinthisprocess.)
Oncompletionof thisstep,thenetworkcarddriverisinstalled
andyoucanproceedtoinstallthemodemdriver.Followthe
instructionsinthenextsection.
Installingthemodemdriver
1. YoumusthavetheAirCard
installationCDintheCD
drive.IftheCDstartu pmenuisdisplayed,usethe
exit
optioninthelowerleftcornerofthescreentoexitthe
menu.
2. Inthe
Control Panel,doubleclicktheModemicontoopen
the
Modem Propertieswindow.
3. Clickthe
AddbuttontoopentheInstall New Modemwizard.
4. Select
Don’t detect my modem, I will select it from a listandclick
Next.
5. Selectthe
Have Diskbutton.
6. Enter
d:\Drivers\WinNT\mdmac555wheredisthedriveletter
foryourCD‐ROMdriveandclick
Open.
7. Click
OK.
8. Verifythat
Sierra Wireless AirCard 555 Modemisdisplayed
andclick
Next.
9. Selectthe
Selected Portsradiobuttonandselectthesame
communicationsportyouselectedwhenyouinstalledthe
networkcarddriver.Click
Next.
10. ClickFinish.
11. IfyouarepromptedthatDial‐UpNetworkingneedstobe
configured,click
Yes.
12. Click
AddintheRemote Access Setupwindow.
13. SelecttheAirCard 555listingunder
RAS Capable Devices
andclick
OK.
14. Ifyouarepromptedtorest art yourPC,click
Yes.
OtherwiserestartyourPCfromtheStartmenu.
15. WhenthePCrestarts,reinstallyourServicePack.
