Command Description
!NVBACKUP
Supporting chipsets:
• All
Back up items stored in non-volatile memory
Create a backup that is stored in the modem’s flash memory.
Usage:
• Execution: AT!NVBACKUP=<category>
Response:
!NVBACKUP:
NV Items Saved: <saved>
NV Items Skipped: <skipped> (only appears if > 0)
NV Items 0 Length: <zerolen> (only appears if > 0)

Purpose: Backup NV items.
Parameters:
<category> (Items to back up):
• 0=Factory items (RF calibration data)—Used only at the factory (only needs
to be done once for the lifetime of the device)
• 1=OEM items (PRI customizations)—Used only by the OEM when loading
a new PRI configuration (only needs to be done once for the lifetime of the
device)
• 2=User items (customizations, including those made by Watcher or other
host applications)—This is the only backup option that should be employed
by users. Use this command before doing a firmware update. If the
modem’s file system is reinitialized for some reason during the update, the
customizations would then be automatically restored using from the backed-
up information.
<saved> (Number of NV items saved):
• Valid range: 0–255
<skipped> (Number of NV items skipped):
• Valid range: 0–255
<zerolen> (Number of items that are ‘zero length’):
• Valid range: 0–255
