Mostserviceprovidershave“roaming”agreementswithother
serviceproviders,sothattheycanofferserviceoutsideof the
coverageareaoftheirownnetworks.Forexample,assuming
youliveinVancouver(Canada),andtravelfrequentlyto
Seattle(UnitedStates),youcanobtainanaccountwitha
Vancouverserviceprovider
thathasaroamingagreementwith
aserviceproviderinSeattle.Youwouldthenhavelocalservice
inVancouver,androamingserviceinSeattle.
Care and maintenance of your
modem
Aswithanyelectronicdevice,themodemmustbehandled
withcaretoensurereliableoperation.Followtheseguidelines
inusingandstoringthemodem:
• Donotapplyadhesivelabelstothemodemorcard
adapter.Thismaycausethemodemorcardadapterto
becomejammedinsidethecardslot.
• ThemodemshouldfiteasilyintoyourExpressCard/
PC Cardslot.Forcingthemodemintoaslotmaydamage
connectorpins.
• Wheninsertingorremovingthemodem,alwaysgripitby
thesidesratherthanthetop(seethedrawingsonpage 21).
• Protectthecardfromliquids,dust,andexcessiveheat.
