The keys are available in sets of 24, up to a maximum value of 72 (two sets of 12, 1-
24, 25-48, and 49-72).
● The I/O module address is mechanically encoded in the address key.
– Without an address key, the module is inactive.
– With an address key inserted, the module has full functionality.
● Based on the address, the TC-1000 or TC-36 configures the I/O module, indicates
which field devices are connected to this module, and which function is required for
the field devices.
When replacing the plug-in I/O module, the address key must first be swiveled
outward. This switches the load off but values remain saved in the TC-1000 or TC-36.
The key remains plugged into the terminal base so that the TC-1000 or TC-36 can
communicate the required function to the new I/O module.
Reset Key
The reset key sets the module back to the factory settings (default function on each of
the I/O points):
● The reset key is inserted in place of the address key and then swiveled out again.
● The module indicates the reset by briefly lighting all its I/O status LEDs.
● Note that a reset is only possible when the module is supplied with 24 Vdc.
