Function / mechanical design The actuator is driven by a 3-position signal from the controller and generates a rotary motion which is transferred via a driver to the valve. These electromotoric actuators require no maintenance. They have a reversible asynchronous motor which drives the main shaft via spur gears and a self-locking worm gear, which accommodates the rectangular shaft of the butterfly valve. The worm shaft is fitted with a direct-acting manual adjuster.
