7.10 Setting Remote Maintenance Parameters
Requirements
● You have correctly set the IP parameters for the network and for the internal or external
modem.
● The configuration interface of the TS Adapter IE is open.
Remote maintenance parameters
The TS Adapter IE is configured such that it is possible to establish a remote connection in
most cases. If you are unable to establish a remote connection, refer to the "Error
Diagnostics" chapter.
When a remote connection has been made, you can carry out remote maintenance of the
automation components connected to the TS Adapter IE via Ethernet. For the TS Adapter IE
to support remote maintenance, you must make settings on the following tabs of the
configuration interface:
● "Parameters > Modem > Internal Modem"
● "Parameters > Modem > External Modem"
● "Parameters > IP Parameters"
● "Security > User Management"
● "Security > Incoming Calls > General"
Recommended settings:
Firewall active, except "SIMATIC Protocols"
● "Security > Incoming Calls > SIMATIC Protocols"
Recommended setting:
Allow "S7 Communication"

If remote maintenance is not possible, refer to the "Error Diagnostics" chapter.
Result
When you have set the parameters, you can establish a remote connection to the
TS Adapter IE under a newly configured user name.
