License Types
The following application-oriented license types are available for software products
from Siemens AG. The reaction of the software is controlled by the different license
keys for these license types. The type of use is specified in the relevant Certificate
of License.
License Type Description
Single License The software can be used with no time limitation on any one computer.
Floating License Use of software with no time limitation with the right of use obtained over a
network (remote use).
Trial License The use of the software is restricted as follows:·
• Valid for a maximum of 14 days,
• A certain number of days as of the first use,
• Use for tests and validation (disclaimer of liability).
Upgrade License With an upgrade, specific requirements of the system status may need to be
met:·
• With an upgrade license, a license with an "old" version x can be
converted to a version >x+... .
• An upgrade may be necessary, for example, to expand the number of
connections or nodes.
