5.1 Safety notices
Qualified personnel
The device may only be serviced by qualified personnel. Qualified persons are defined as
persons who are authorized to commission, to ground and to tag circuits, equipment, and
systems in accordance with established safety practices and standards.
Correct usage:
WARNING
The device may be used only for the applications described in the catalog and in the
technical description, and only in connection with devices or components from other
manufacturers that have been approved or recommended by Siemens.
This product can only function correctly and safely if it is transported, stored, set up, and
installed correctly, and operated and maintained as recommended.
5.2 Installing the software
Procedure
1. Insert the supplied "SIMATIC TeleService Edition" CD into the CD-ROM drive of your PC.
2. The setup program starts automatically and guides you through the installation.
If the autostart function for your CD-ROM drive is disabled, run the setup program by double-
clicking
Setup.exe in the root folder of your "SIMATIC TeleService Edition" CD.
