11.1 Removing and installing hardware components

11.1.2 Preventive maintenance
To maintain high system availability, we recommend the preventative replacement of those
PC components that are subject to wear. The table below indicates the intervals for this
replacement.
Component Replacement interval:
HDD 3 years
Fan 3 years
CMOS backup battery 5 years
11.1.3 Replacing the Backup Battery
Note
Batteries are wearing parts and should be replaced every 5 years to ensure proper
functioning of the PC.
To be noted before you replace the battery
CAUTION
Risk of damage!
The lithium battery may only be replaced with an identical battery or with a type
recommended by the manufacturer (Order No.: A5E00331143).
WARNING
Risk of explosion and release of harmful substances!
For this reason, do not burn lithium batteries, do not solder on the cell body, do not open,
do not short circuit, do not reverse polarity, do not heat above 100°C, dispose of correctly,
and protect against direct sunlight, dampness and dew.
Disposal
CAUTION
Batteries must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
