The DCF3 provides accurate time data for all SICLIMAT X systems within a plant.

The DCF3 is connected to a serial port and synchronised by radio signal.

Application

In PCs designed for multiple users and multi-tasking, the large number of simultaneous

processes can result in a system clock error of five or more minutes per month.

To deal with this problem, a special radio clock module has been developed, suitable

for connection to any UNIX computer via an RS232 port. This radio clock receives the

time frequency standard from the national institute of metrology in Brunswick,

Germany, and uses software to synchronise the system time every minute (the interval

is adjustable).

This prevents time discrepancies and makes manual checking and correction of the

system time unnecessary.
