4.4.3 Extinguishing solutions based on water combined agents
Extinguishing with Sinorix H

O Gas
In the protection of archives and libraries, Sinorix
H

O Gas offers the highest extinguishing efficiency
known today on the market. Based on nitrogen and
water, it combines the excellent extinguishing behav-
ior of nitrogen with water mist that cools down burn-
ing or heated surfaces. The limited amount of water
needed makes it suitable even for very sensitive
assets.

O Gas offers most reliable extinguish-
ing for archives and libraries available today. The extinguishing effect is based on
the oxygen displacement provoked by nitrogen and enhanced by the additional
cooling effects of water fog. The flooding through a common pipe system provides
an efficient, quick extinguishing and cooling process.
The excellent extinguishing behavior of nitrogen the additional water fog to cool
down hot surfaces produces a dual protection unmatched today in the market. It is
especially suitable for deep seated fires, providing faster extinguishing and long-
lasting re-ignition prevention.

O Gas is an extinguishing system for room protection. Extinguishing is
ensured by inerting or "blanketing" the room. The additionally injected water fog is
equally distributed over the room and precipitates as an aqueous film on all sur-
faces in the room. The fire gases and hot surfaces are cooled, and a possible re-
ignition is prevented.
An additional advantage of Sinorix
TM
H

O Gas is that smoke is washed out of the
atmosphere. Its use is recommended for the protection of rooms where deep
seated fires may occur and where good visibility is required for the protection of
people.
The water amount used by Sinorix
TM
H

O Gas is very low in comparison to other,
conventional water fog systems or deluge systems (between 0,3 and 1,0 kg per
m

). Therefore, the resulting aqueous film wetting the surfaces in the room is very
thin. It requires so little water that it is even suitable for protecting areas where very
