4.2.6.3 XC-10 control unit
The control unit XC10 will activate the agent discharge when:
– Two cross-zoning monitoring lines are in alarm
– Manual actuator is triggered
In addition the XC-10 control unit provides the following lines:
– One detector line with conventional detectors for monitoring areas adjacent to
the extinguishing zone
– Emergency hold or abort button(s) for manual blocking of extinguishing
– Alarm horn(s) for acoustic reporting of a fire alarm and the activated condition
– Illuminated warning panel(s) for optical reporting of the impending extinguishing
operation during the activated condition time and the released condition extin-
guishing
– Remote transmission device to report the “Fire alarm” and “Fault” conditions
– Relay for fire control with 230V contact
– Field contacts to report the states "Extinguishing released", "Extinguishing Agent
Loss" and "Mechanical blocking device open/closed"
– Solenoid or pyrotechnical actuators to trigger the flooding
– Repeater indication panels for extinguishing areas with several entrances

As alternative an aspirating smoke detection (ASD) instead fire point detectors can
be connected to the XC-10. The possible configurations are:
– One line ASD (alarm), one line with fire point detectors (confirmation)
– One ASD with two alarm outputs activated at different smoke level (alarm, con-
firmation)
– Two ASD forming a cross zoning with the detection pipe
