2.14.4 Demand – defining the required quality
1. Defining the required main qualities
– Operational processes
– Climate
– Light
– Specifying the materials which are harmless regarding conservation (or at
least which should not be used)
– Design load
– Storage technology, facilities
– Fire detection/Fire protection/Fire fighting
– Water detection
– Detecting harmful substances (e.g. formaldehyde)
– Security (value protection)
– Occupational safety
Which qualitative requirements must be fulfilled in the rooms?
2.14.5 Implementation – planning and implementation of the project
1. Evaluating the location
– Operational advantages and disadvantages
– Risk evaluation
2. Project evaluation (e.g. for competitions)
– Demand and requirements
– Functionality
– Costs
3. Rough and detailed planning in the team (user, builder, architects, expert
planners and specialists).
– Providing project-specific and expert detail information for everyone involved
(explanations to explain demand and requirements)
– Discussions between all involved discussing and justifying demand and
requirements in project groups
– System evaluations (e.g. climate technology, light, storage technology, fire
detection, fire fighting, monitoring harmful substances, water detection,
security etc.)
– Developing, supporting, following and checking decisions
The implementation requires close co-operation of users, builders, architects, ex-
pert planers and specialists. The goal has to be that the mutual information flow is
guaranteed throughout the whole duration of the project and that it does not stop or
get interrupted in any phase.
2.14.6 Control – Checking and comparing the current with the target state
1. Checking the result after completion
– Creating deficit lists
– Monitoring the solution of deficits
2. Warranty
– Another comparison of the current state with the target state before the end of
the warranty period
– see above: Checking the result
