9.6 Security
9.6.1 Root password
The administrator account “root” is permanent and cannot be deleted.
NOTE
If you want to add more accounts, you must apply a password for the “root” account first.
1. Open the CCIC1410 Homepage (see chapter 9.1).
2. Choose the Configuration menu.
3. On the left hand side, choose the menu item Security.
4. Type in the password identically in both text boxes.
5. Click Save.
Î A window will be opened prompting you for authentication. Enter the
correct user’s name and password in the appropriate fields to access the
network camera.
9.6.2 Add users
Access rights are sorted by user types. There are three kinds of user types.
Only administrators can access the configuration page. Operators and viewers
cannot access the configuration page. Though operators cannot access the page,
they are capable of using the URL commands to get and set the value of
parameters. Viewers can only access the main page.
1. Open the CCIC1410 Homepage (see chapter 9.1).
2. Choose the Configuration menu.
3. On the left hand side, choose the menu item Security.
4. Enter the new user name and user password.
5. Select the desired security level.
Administrators can create up to 20 user accounts.
6. Click Add.
