4.2 From the application to the TEC data points
The diagram below is a simplified illustration of the route taken by data from the I/Os
and parameters of the application through to the VISONIK data points in the BPS. Its
purpose is
– To provide an overall picture of the data flow, from the perspective of the application
– To illustrate the interaction between the various elements.
This will help clarify the engineering steps described later.

The data flow is indicated in the left of the diagram from the bottom to the top, using a
room temperature T

as an example. Data is, of course, also transmitted from the top
down (e.g. setpoints).
